About Me

An Australian from Melbourne, I honed my skills at various tennis facilities and international tennis academies around the world. I spent considerable time training at Melbourne Park, Cash-Hopper tennis academy, IMG Academy and Harry Hopman tennis academy as well as learning the game personally from many of the great players and coaches of our sport.

I competed both nationally and internationally as a junior but had some major injury setbacks throughout my development. In 2007 after 12 months out of the game with a major shoulder injury I accepted scholarship to San Diego’s PLNU collegiate tennis team. I had a successful college career, consistently ranked in the top 10 NAIA and completed my degree in psychology in 2012.

I started full time coaching the same year and became the tennis director of both the Manchester Grand Hyatt San Diego and the Sheraton Hotel & Marina San Diego. I was awarded “Elite professional” status by the United States Professional Tennis Association in 2012 and began coaching at the Coronado Tennis Centre where I spend the majority of my time working with players of all levels today.

My Coaching Philosophy

I believe in getting better every day. You can’t improve everything, every day, but you can improve something today. With the bigger picture in mind, setting clear goals day in and day out is the process mindset that creates amazing improvement. There is always a goal and an intention when you work with me and you will see that over time consistent effort in working towards and achieving those small goals makes a dramatic improvement in a player’s development. I take pride in my players improvement and spend great amounts of time planning practices and expanding my own knowledge and skill base in order to be the best coach for them.

I regularly use video analysis and statistical analysis to improve players in both their technique and their overall tennis intelligence. When you work with me you will know why you are making a change, or why a certain strategy is important. Communication is key and I have developed my ability to convey my message to many personalities, ages and abilities through thousands of hours of on court coaching.

My mission is to help you achieve your tennis goals. Whether you are a complete beginner with the goal of learning a new life skill or an international competitor looking for an edge. I have the skills and knowledge to improve players at all levels of tennis. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach and give me a call and we can talk about your tennis.
